May is Leave a Legacy Month and an opportunity for us to thank the donors who have chosen to leave a gift in their will to PBI-Canada.

We have received four bequests over the past three years and see those gifts as a poignant reflection of the individual’s commitment to supporting our continuing accompaniment of human rights defenders around the world.

General bequests can specify that a certain sum of money, or a fixed percentage of an estate, or a particular asset such as shares, RRSP/RRIF proceeds, life insurance proceeds, art, or real property will be donated.

If you are considering this, we encourage you to speak with your adviser or an appropriate legal, tax or other expert about your intentions.
