On September 7, the Peace Brigades International-Honduras Project posted on its Facebook page: “COPINH, an accompanied organization, warns about a new suspension of the David Castillo process after the defence presented a challenge. Now waiting for a response from the Court of Appeals.”

The COPINH alert states: “Hearing against David Castillo, co-author of the murder of #BertaCáceres, suspended. Defence of David Castillo presents a challenge against the court in charge of the case. Once again the process against Castillo is hampered by delaying actions of his defence.”

COPINH also issued the media statement (in English) below:

The Peace Brigades International-Honduras Project began accompanying the Civic Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras (COPINH) in May 2016, three months after the murder of COPINH co-founder Berta Cáceres.
