Shuswap Yoga raises $1,070 for Peace Brigades International!

Published by Brent Patterson on

Peace Brigades International-Canada extends our sincere appreciation to Laurie Ankenman and Shuswap Yoga in Salmon Arm, British Columbia for their support of our work.

The website for Shuswap Yoga highlighted, “Making Space for Peace: Monday Dec. 30, 2019 10:00 – 11:15 a.m. and 5:00 – 6:15 p.m. A special holiday yoga practice to support the volunteer work of Peace Brigades International Canada.”

This ongoing yoga fundraiser has been happening for years thanks to Laurie, a nationally certified Iyengar Yoga instructor at Shuswap Yoga.

In January 2016, their website noted, “The Peace Brigades International Canada guided yoga practice Fundraiser offered by Laurie on December 16, 2015 raised a total of $250.00. This year the Monday Night Buddhist Meditation Sitting Group also contributed, bringing the total raised to $400 from the yoga and meditation community at Shuswap Yoga.”

That post adds, “This is the same amount that was raised from the 2014 practice.”

PBI is grateful for Laurie’s support and to all the students who participated in the December 2019 fundraiser and who donated so generously.
