Throughout 2026, Peace Brigades International-Canada worked to document, contextualize and amplify the accompaniment of organizations, human rights defenders and communities by the PBI field projects Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico – on a daily basis.
We organized two webinars to encourage people to apply to be “brigadistas”, field volunteers with these projects.
We travelled to Mexico and Honduras to participate in the PBI-Mexico and PBI-Honduras physical accompaniment of defenders.
We monitored the situations for human rights defenders and amplified Alerts and Urgent Actions to improve their security situation at key moments.
And we observed numerous marches and protests in Ottawa, including protests by Filipino youth while highlighting the launch of the new Peace Brigades International-Southeast Asia Project in April of this year.
Watch for our upcoming activities in November and December!
