UN Special Rapporteur joins webinar on Thursday

This Thursday (December 7) at 12 pm ET, Michel Forst, the UN Special Rapporteur on environmental defenders will be joining our webinar about the UN COP28 climate summit now happening in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Forst will give opening comments on the importance of environmental defenders and the role COP28 should play in enhancing protections for defenders and providing means to document, report, and investigate threats and attacks.

At least 1,390 land and environmental defenders have been killed since COP21.

Following Forst, we will hear from Wet’suwet’en land defender Eve Saint, Colombian water protector Yuli Velasquez, Global Witness policy advisor Javier Garate, and Climate Action Network-Canada campaigner Emily Lowan.
