PBI-Kenya meets with Toolkit Organizers from the urban settlements of Kibera and Langata in Nairobi
On February 16, PBI-Kenya posted: “We talked with the WHRD [Women Human Rights Defenders] Toolkit Organizers from [the urban settlements of] Kibera and Langata, about sustainability, impact and strategy of the WHRD Toolkit Organizers network. ‘I am a different person compared to when I entered the network’”
The previous day, they had also posted: “As toolkit organizers, the Toolkit Organizers have reached seven different wards in the Mathare area. Thanks CGHRD [Coalition for Grassroots Human Rights Defenders] Kenya for having us in your offices!”
The PBI-Kenya website has previously explained: “In 2016, PBI Kenya developed a Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs) Toolkit which offers resources as well as recommendations to help address the specific challenges of grassroots WHRDs.”
They add: “This programme focuses on working closely with a network of WHRDs from five of Nairobi’s urban settlements (Kibera, Langata, Kawangware, Mathare and Mukuru).”
