Also, I wanted to let you know about our webinar this coming Thursday March 11 at 3:30 pm EST.

It will feature two defenders accompanied by PBI-Mexico: Isela Gonzalez of the Sierra Madre Alliance and Neftali Reyes of Educa Oaxaca. They will be speaking about the struggle for Indigenous rights and the impact of Canadian mining in the states of Chihuahua and Oaxaca.

This webinar falls on the same day as the sentencing hearing for the perpetrator who killed Raramuri land defender Julian Carrillo in Chihuahua and the same week as the 9th anniversary of the killing of human rights defender Bernardo Vásquez Sánchez who opposed a Canadian owned mine in Oaxaca. The struggles of these defenders continue and Isela and Neftali will be able to provide timely updates to us.
