Urgent Action: Help stop the criminalization of Secwepemc land defenders

The United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination has called on Canada to immediately cease construction on the Trans Mountain pipeline and withdraw the RCMP from Secwepemc traditional lands.

And yet construction continues as does the criminalization of Secwepemc land defenders opposed to this megaproject that lacks their free, prior and informed consent.

The Government of Canada Crown corporation that owns this tar sands pipeline is accepting questions until November 3 that it will answer at its annual public meeting on November 17.

Please help us ask: Will you respect the call from the UN Committee and uphold the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination that Canada ratified 50 years ago?

Will you stop the criminalization of Secwepemc land defenders and respect the right to free, prior and informed consent?
