Canada should support the proposed United Nations Binding Treaty on business and human rights
There will be a crucial United Nations meeting on the proposed Binding Treaty on business and human rights this coming October 26-30.
While some corporations and states have been blocking the creation of this Treaty, Canada has reportedly largely been absent from the process so far.
Now is an urgent time to tell the Prime Minister and Canada’s representatives at the UN in Geneva and New York that Canada should support the creation of a legally-binding Treaty that recognizes the important role played by human rights defenders.
Please join us in calling on them to publicly support this important global human rights initiative before the UN meeting starts on October 26.
