The Peacefund Canada Foundation

The Peacefund Canada Foundation's mission is to raise funds from individual Canadian donors to support PBI's work in Canada.

Originally founded in the 1980s by Murray Thomson who, in addition to being one of Peace Brigades International's founders, is also the former Executive Director of CUSO (Canadian University Service Overseas - or Canada's Peace Corps), founder of Project Ploughshares, winner of the Pearson Peace Medal and a Companion of the Order of Canada. Since then Peacefund Canada spent 20 years supporting small projects in support of peace, conflict resolution and human rights.

In 2006 Peacefund Canada became the Foundation that it is today, devoting all of its efforts to raising money for our work at both the national and international levels.
